D.C. Time

I learned that being flexible sometimes has great rewards. We are in training now, and every day is chock full with lectures and meetings, so when our schedule had an unexpected break we got together with some friends and drove to Washington D.C. I had been there when I was a child, but this was Benjamin’s first time.

We hit all of the major highlights including the White House, the National Mall, the Capitol Building, and Arlington Cemetery. Benjamin’s favorite stop was at Arlington where we were able to see the changing of the guard at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. My favorite part was realizing that unplanned and unscheduled vacations are the best. No one is in a rush or stressed, and everyone has a good time, especially when you find other UK fans.
